Coming Out by Keith Haring | 14366
Coming Out Day, 11th October each year, commemorates the Oct. 11, 1987, march on Washington DC. Half a million people marched for Lesbian and Gay Rights.
Coming Out Day was created by Rob Eichberg and Jean O’Leary, then head of National Gay Rights Advocates. From this idea the National Coming Out Day was born. Coming Out Day continues to promote a safe world for LGBT individuals to live truthfully and openly. Originally a US only event, the event has since become observed in other countries around the world.
