Oooooh, BOLD! Polari, used for decades by gay men, actors, and theatre performers and which famously appeared on primetime radio show Round The Horne, has been brought up-to-date with a bijou iPhone appette. Fantabulosa! Heartfaces Jez Dolan and Joseph Richardson of Manchester have teamed up with language professor Paul Baker to revive the endangered language with a downloadable dictionary of 500 Polari words. They will launch the software at a new exhibition at the John Rylands Library during Manchester’s Pride Week this month. Must get my riah done.
